Reform Strategy for the New Orleans Police Department

There will be a period of extensive reform embarked upon within the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) as a result of a detailed consent decree enforced through the US Attorney General's office.

The recently announced agreement consists of a 492-point action plan to bring about fundamental change within this embattled police department. There were difficult negotiations undertaken to arrive at this agreement which includes several points of reform, including off-duty police details, use of force activities, and police stops.
